PHILIPPINE CONSUL GENERAL IN SAN FRANCISCO CALLS ON 
JAPANESE CONSUL GENERAL

Philippine Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer (above) virtually calls
on Japanese Consul General Toru Maeda (below) on 01 March 2021.

Newly arrived Consul General of the Philippines in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer called on Consul General of Japan in San Francisco Toru Maeda on 01 March 2021 virtually via Zoom.   

Consul General Maeda extended a warm welcome to Consul General Ferrer and looked forward to closer interactions in the future.  They discussed and shared updates about their consulates’ operations in view of the pandemic.  They also expressed concerns about the rising incidents of hate crimes against Asian Americans.  They discussed the possibility of holding joint cultural events for the Asian-American communities, once the pandemic is controlled and it is safe to gather. 

Consul General Ferrer remarked, “The Philippine and Japanese Consulates General in San Francisco both take care of a large population of our nations within our respective jurisdictions.  We shall continue collaborations and sharing of best practices in order to better serve our respective nationals.”/END
