Newly arrived Consul General of the Philippines in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer  called on San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President David Canepa virtually via Zoom on 12 February 2021.

He was elected to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in November 2016, representing District 5, which includes: the City of Brisbane, Broadmoor, the Town of Colma, the City of Daly City, and parts of the City of San Bruno and the City of South San Francisco.  In January 2021, Supervisor Canepa was selected as the President of the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County.

Supervisor Canepa extended a warm welcome to Consul General Ferrer on his arrival in San Francisco.  Both of them looked forward to continued close cooperation and engagement.  They discussed the status of the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out in San Mateo County, including the provision of access for immigrants without health insurance.

Consul General Ferrer remarked during the call that, “as San Mateo County is home to a sizable Filipino community, I look forward to an active and vibrant engagement with the San Mateo County government under the leadership of Board of Supervisors President David Canepa, especially on ongoing efforts to assist Filipinos during the pandemic.” /END
