Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco Holds Saturday Consular Service for Seniors, Medical Frontliners
SAN FRANCISCO, 15 March – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco held on 13 March its first special Saturday consular service for senior citizens and medical frontliners in the SF Bay Area. Applicants from other areas, such as Washington and Oregon states, were also accommodated in the Saturday service.
Consul General Neil Ferrer led the consular service, including the oath-taking of those who availed themselves of the dual citizenship process. Consul General Ferrer explained the benefits of reacquiring Philippine citizenship, such as regaining political and economic rights, i.e., voting in the national elections after registration overseas, and owning properties in the Philippines. “We are happy to welcome you again as Filipinos and we encourage you to invite other former Filipinos to avail themselves of dual citizenship application and enjoy the benefits of regaining Filipino citizenship, including the protection of the Philippine government,” Consul General underscored in his message.
The Saturday consular service will be held again on 27 March 2021, on an appointment basis. Please visit the Consulate’s website www.philippinessanfrancisco.org to book an appointment. The Consulate shall continue to implement health and safety protocols to protect the well-being of the public.
