PHILIPPINE CONSUL GENERAL IN SAN FRANCISCO CALLS ON INDONESIAN CONSUL GENERAL

Newly arrived Consul General of the Philippines in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer called on Consul General of Indonesia in San Francisco Simon Djatwoko Irwatko Soekarno on 16 February 2021 virtually via Zoom.  

Consul General Soekarno assumed in 2019.  He had previously served as Director of Protocol of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Consul General of the Indonesian Consulate General to Los Angeles.  He also served at Indonesian Embassies in Santiago, Madrid, and Singapore.

Consul General Soekarno extended a warm welcome to Consul General Ferrer and looked forward to closer interactions in the future.  They discussed and shared updates concerning their consulates’ operations, the COVID-19 situation as it affected their respective nationals, and continued conduct of economic diplomacy in a pandemic setting.  They also expressed hope that once the pandemic is controlled, the ASEAN Consulates in San Francisco could safely interact and gather.
