PH CONSULATE IN SAN FRANCISCO CONDUCTS CONSULAR SERVICES IN COLORADO

DENVER, COLORADO, 11 June 2021 – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco held its first consular outreach mission this year in Aurora, Colorado on 3 – 5 June 2021.

During its three-day consular outreach mission, the Consulate provided services to 786 applicants for passport, dual citizenship, civil registration, and notarial services. A total of 136 overseas voting registrants were also accommodated.

The Consulate implemented basic health and safety protocols during the outreach, such as wearing of face coverings while inside the premises.

Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer engaged with the Filipino community in Colorado at a townhall meeting held on 04 June, and held meetings with Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman. Consul General Ferrer also met with the World Trade Center (WTC) Denver to discuss possible business partnerships with Colorado-based companies.

The meetings highlighted opportunities for partnerships and further trade between the Philippines and Colorado in various areas and industries, such as business process outsourcing (BPO), manufacturing of high technology instruments and electronic parts, healthcare and bioscience, aerospace, agriculture, as well as education, student exchange programs, and medical tourism. The contribution of the Filipino community in the state’s economy and the importance of recognizing Philippine culture and heritage in their respective communities were also emphasized in the meetings.

The Consulate plans to conduct consular outreach missions in other locations under its jurisdiction this year, such as in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Utah.
