PH Consulate General in San Francisco Expands Reach of Services through Successful Colorado Springs Outreach Mission

Colorado Springs, Colorado – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco successfully conducted its second consular outreach mission for 2026 in Colorado Springs, Colorado on 24-25 April 2026, delivering essential services to overseas Filipinos in the region.

During the two-day outreach, the Consulate rendered a total of 165 passport and dual citizenship services to members of the Filipino community. In addition to residents of Colorado, clients also traveled from neighboring states, including Wyoming, New Mexico, and Washington state, underscoring the continued demand for accessible consular services across a wide geographic area.

Following the consular outreach, the Consulate team paid a visit to the Dr. Jose Rizal monument at the George Fellows Park in Colorado Springs. The six-foot bronze sculpture – created by Atty. Ellaine Bordeaux and filmmaker Fritz Corpuz Silorio – was formally dedicated on 27 July 2025. The Rizal Monument Project was spearheaded by the Dr. Jose Rizal Legacy International Foundation, which brought together Filipino American organizations and community leaders in a collaborative effort to honor the Philippines’ national hero.

The outreach team was composed of Consul Rowena R. Pangilinan-Daquipil, Jesus Alex P. Aurellano, Paul Vincent B. Ferrer, Elizabeth M. Margallo, Jonald B. Mendoza, and Bernice Catherine S. Santayana, who worked diligently to ensure the efficient processing of applications and to provide assistance to applicants.

Philippine Honorary Consul to Colorado Donna B. Lavigne extended significant support for the outreach mission. The Filipino American Community of Southern Colorado (FACSC), the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Region V, and NaFFAA Colorado were also instrumental in the successful implementation of the activity.

The outreach is part of the Consulate’s ongoing commitment to bring services closer to Filipino communities throughout its consular jurisdiction. There are an estimated 6,444 Filipinos and Filipino Americans in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and an estimated 38,358 Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the state of Colorado, according to the American Community Survey.
