SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted various activities in observance of the CY 2025 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) from 25 November to 12 December 2025.

To launch its advocacy campaign to End-VAW, the official banner with the theme “UNiTed for a VAW-free Philippines” was posted at the Consulate’s official website and social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) on 25 November 2025.

For the duration of the 18-day campaign, the Consulate posted End-VAW advocacy posters at conspicuous places within its premises. VAW-related videos, produced by the PCW, were shown publicly at the televisions installed at the consular areas to raise awareness among the clients.

On 09 December 2025, the Consulate organized a Basic Self-Defense Workshop which was moderated by Mr. Joseph Bautista, the founder of Legacy Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) located in Daly City, California. Mr. Bautista discussed the importance of situational awareness, verbal de-escalation and basic self-defense. Mr. Bautista was joined by Mr. Ben Villao, an instructor at Legacy FMA, in the demonstration of the basic self-defense techniques. The activity aims to empower personnel, especially women, by equipping them with the basic knowledge and skills to tackle abuse or violence within or outside the workplace. END
