MILBRAE, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco joined the Filipino American dance community group Line Dancing by V. Allen L. Isidro (LDVALI) in celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Millbrae Recreation Center on 11 September 2026.
A highlight of the event was the U.S. launch of the book “Memory in Motion: Dance Like Every Day is a Gift” by Mr. Allen Isidro and co-authored by Ms. Elaine Factor.The memoir chronicles Mr. Isidro’s journey, which began with a line dancing class taken on a ‘whim’, eventually led him to share his passion for dance and establish a dance ministry.
During the event, Consul General Arnel G. Talisayon expressed his appreciation to Mr. Isidro for his meaningful contributions to the community through dance. Consul General Talisayon also provided consular updates on the issuance of Philippine e-visas, acceptance of e-certificates from the Philippine Statistics Authority for dual citizenship applications, among other services. He likewise encouraged attendees to join the 2027 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) tour, which will take place in the Philippines on 7-17 February 2027.
The event’s keynote speaker, San Mateo County Assessor David Canepa, recognized the positive impact Mr. Isidro has made in the community throughout the years. In his remarks, he said, “You’re giving people hope, you’re giving them optimism, and the joy of dancing.” Based in San Mateo County, LDVALI is an American line dancing program and community led by its founder, dance choreographer Mr. Valentino Allen L. Isidro. It offers beginner and intermediate dance classes that promote health and wellness among people of various age groups, particularly seniors, while providing opportunities for social engagement and community building.END
