SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco joined Kaisahan of San Jose Dance Company, Inc. in celebrating its 45th founding anniversary held on 13 September 2026 at the Marijane Hamann Community Center in the City of San Jose.
The anniversary celebration highlighted the richness of Filipino culture and heritage while showcasing the vibrant engagement of Kaisahan and the community with other international cultural groups, including Folclórico Colibrí and the Youth of Samoa Culture Academy, which also performed during the milestone event.
In his remarks, Consul General Arnel G. Talisayon commended the tireless efforts of Kaisahan in preserving and promoting Philippine traditions through their community performances, the sharing of Philippine local music and folk dances, classes and workshops, and other community activities. He noted that these initiatives continue to inspire younger Filipino Americans to take pride in their heritage.
Consul General Talisayon also recognized Ms. Helen Pastor-Moreno, Kaisahan’s founder and artistic director, for her notable contribution in advancing Philippine culture and arts in the United States.
Founded in 1981, Kaisahan of San Jose is dedicated to promoting and preserving Philippine culture through song, music, and dance. It is recognized as the longest-running active professional Filipino dance company in the South Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.
For more than four decades, Kaisahan has shared the richness and diversity of Filipino heritage with audiences through vibrant performances that celebrate the Philippines’ traditional music, dances, and cultural traditions.END
