8 September 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco commemorated Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026 through a flag-raising ceremony. The observance featured the official MANA Mo 2026 music video, Karapatan sa Karagatan, and messages from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, emphasizing the importance of protecting the country’s maritime heritage and fostering greater public awareness of the vital role that the oceans play in the lives of Filipinos.

This year’s commemoration carries added significance as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award, a milestone that underscores the Philippines’ commitment to international law and a rules-based maritime order.
