Seventeen (17) participants from Northern California and Colorado departed for the Philippines on 10 July 2026 to join the 2026 VIP Tour, including several returning alumni who have once again chosen to take part in the program. Prior to their departure, the participants gathered for a brief send-off and tour orientation, where they received final travel reminders and commemorative giveaways from the organizers.

In all, 51 participants from the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco’s consular jurisdiction are joining this year’s VIP Tour. The other participants had departed for the Philippines several days earlier to begin their respective itineraries.

The VIP Tour is a flagship tourism program jointly organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the United States, and Rajah Tours. Since its inception in 2005, the program has enabled Filipino Americans and members of the Filipino diaspora with opportunities to reconnect with their heritage, experience the Philippines’ diverse tourism destinations, and strengthen ties with their homeland through curated cultural and educational experiences. The Philippine Consulate General wished all participants a safe, enjoyable and meaningful journey, and reaffirmed its continued support for initiatives that foster cultural reconnection, heritage appreciation, and tourism in the Philippines.
