San Francisco, California, 02 August 2023 – Teofilo Coffee Company, a Filipino American family-owned business located in Los Alamitos, California, recently held a coffee tasting event at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco. The event took place on 02 August 2023 from 12nn to 2 PM, which showcased the unique flavor profiles of Filipino coffee by giving out samplers to the Consulate’s visitors, clients and building tenants at the Philippine Center in the city.

Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer thanked Mr. Dizon for visiting the Consulate and promoting Philippine coffee in San Francisco.

Mr. Dizon underscored his appreciation for Philippine government and non-government organizations like the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Coffee Board Inc., as well as the unwavering support of various coffee communities.

Teofilo Coffee Company was established by Filipino American Ron Dizon in Southern California in 2017. The business’ early years saw the owner’s participation in farmers’ markets and catering events. They later opened a brick-and-mortar shop in Los Alamitos, Southern California.

The inspiration behind Teofilo Coffee Company came from Mr. Dizon’s grandfather, who motivated him to venture into the business. The primary goal was to introduce and foster an appreciation for Filipino coffee in Southern California, much like the recognition given to other renowned coffee-producing countries. Mr. Dizon aims to revive the Philippines’ historical status as a significant coffee producer from the 1700s, through initiatives to stimulate coffee production and improve its quality standards.

The company’s mission is to “Give Back to The Philippines,” with a vision to contribute to the country’s economic growth and promote tourism by attracting visitors to see the coffee processing sites in the Philippines.  END
