Sister Cities Baguio and Vallejo Celebrate 30th Founding Anniversary at Vallejo Sister City Association’s 17th International Dinner & Auction

SISTER CITIES BAGUIO AND VALLEJO CELEBRATE 30TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY AT VALLEJO SISTER CITY ASSOCIATION’S 17TH INTERNATIONAL DINNER & AUCTION

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, attended 17th Annual International Dinner and Auction of the Vallejo Sister City Association at the Filipino Community Center of Solano County in Vallejo, California on 23 September 2023.

The event highlighted the sister city relations between Vallejo and Baguio, Philippines, which are marking their 30th founding anniversary this year. In attendance were Baguio Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan and Councilors Fred Bagbagen and Lilia Fariñas.

In his remarks, Vice Consul Baccay cited community efforts to establish the Baguio-Vallejo sister city relations, which was formalized in Vallejo through City Council Resolution No. 93-250 on 25 May 1993. He presented a Certificate of Recognition signed by Consul General Neil Ferrer to the Vallejo-Baguio Sister City Committee, for its “invaluable contributions… to the strong people-to-people ties between the Philippines and the United States.”
