SAN FRANCISCO PCG JOINS SF CONSULAR CORPS MEETING WITH CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES’ DR. SCOTT SAMPSON
On 14 May 2024, Consul Jed Llona represented Consul General Neil Ferrer during the San Francisco Consular Corps meeting at Fairmont Hotel. The Meeting featured Dr. Scott D. Sampson who is the Executive Director, and William and Gretchen Kimball Chair of the California Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Sampson shared the mission of the Academy, which is to regenerate the natural world through science, learning, and collaboration, as well as the ongoing research work in various parts of the world, including in the Philippines. Dr. Sampson asserted the importance of regenerating the places that we live in to allow nature to thrive again. He also mentioned the alliance the Academy has with 41 institutions to re-imagine how San Francisco should be in the next century.
