SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – As part of the celebration of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May, the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco together with the Philippine Department of Tourism Office joined the Consulates & Communities: AAPI Cultural Fair organized by the Consulate of Japan in partnership with San Francisco State University (SFSU) on 6 May 2026.

Aside from providing information and responding to inquiries on tourism and consular services, the Philippine booth also distributed souvenir items such as tourism brochures, Love the Philippines pens, luggage tags, stickers, Filipino snacks, and notepads bearing the logo of the 80th Anniversary of Philippines-U.S. diplomatic relations.

The Consulates of Vietnam, Mongolia, India, Nepal, and Tonga, as well as other community organizations such the Samoan Community Development Center, Kazakh American Association, and Korean Center Inc. also participated in the event and set up booths and interactive activities.

The cultural fair at SFSU aimed to expose students and community members to diverse cultures and highlight the contributions of the vibrant AAPI community through visits to colorful display and information booths, participation in creative and fun activities, and the enjoyment of cultural performances.END
