Philippine Consulate in San Francisco Welcomes New PDOT – SF Official

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – On 18 December 2025, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco welcomed Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) – San Francisco’s new Administrative Officer Stalingrad F. Samson, underscoring continued efforts to enhance engagement with U.S. and Canadian tourism markets.
Discussions focused on strategic initiatives to engage younger tourists, enhance visitor experiences, and build on the success of recent travel shows to further strengthen the Philippines’ presence in North America. Key areas included the annual VIP Tour, airline partnerships for travel packages, improved direct flight connectivity, and culturally resonant marketing initiatives.
The Consulate and the PDOT-SF official also discussed preparations for upcoming events and tours, alongside continued efforts to strengthen stakeholder collaboration, digital engagement, and the promotion of the Philippines’ culture, heritage, and natural attractions. The U.S. market continues to be a significant contributor to the Philippines’ tourism sector. It ranks no. 2 as a source of tourist arrivals to the country. It is also the top global source market for diving, golf, and cruise tourism. END
