PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL MEETS WITH WYOMING BUSINESS COUNCIL
CHEYENNE, WYOMING – Consul General Neil R. Ferrer met with officers of the Wyoming Business Council (WBC) on 22 May 2023 to discuss possible partnerships in the areas of energy security, agriculture and food security, as well as technology-driven innovations.
Consul General Ferrer and Consul Vanessa Bago-Llona met with WBC officers Ms. Amy Grenfell, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Ron Gullberg, Strategic Partnerships Director, Mr. Brandon Marshall, Services Director, Mr. Taylor Vignaroli, Entrepreneur Development Manager, and Mr. David Carpenter, Markets & Industry Manager, at their Cheyenne office.
Consul General Ferrer underscored the strong Philippines-U.S. bilateral relations and the top priorities of the Philippines including agriculture and food security, energy security, digitalization across various sectors.
The WBC team highlighted various innovations and economic updates in the state, including its business-friendly environment; agriculture technology, specifically controlled environments for agriculture, e.g., agri-tech company Plenty, which is building its research and development center in Laramie, Wyoming; continuing research and development for emerging technologies in the energy sector, such as carbon capture and storage, as well as hydrogen development; and the state’s leadership in blockchain technology and regulations.
The Consulate General was in Cheyenne for a one-day consular outreach to provide consular services to Filipino Americans in Wyoming and nearby states. END
