The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco held a Consular Outreach Mission in Juneau, Alaska from May 21 to 23, 2022 at the Filipino Community Center at 251 S Franklin St., Juneau, Alaska 99801, providing a total of 329 services.
The consular outreach afforded the Filipinos and FilAms the necessary consular services without having to travel to San Francisco. Applicants from all over Alaska, including Anchorage, Barrow, Fairbanks, Ketchikian, Kodiak, North Pole, and Sitka, among others traveled to Juneau to avail of services.
The outreach was co-organized by Consul Rebecca Carillo, a,h., Philippine Honorary Consul in Juneau, supported by volunteers from the Filipino Community Center. The Consulate team was joined by representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Tourism to promote Philippine products and tourism.
Local officials, including Alaska State Senator Jesse Kiehl, Juneau Assemblymember Greg Smith, Alaska Labor Deputy Commissioner Nelson San Juan, who is Filipino-American, visited the outreach and expressed appreciation for the Consulate’s visit. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy’s Chief of Staff Randy Ruaro, who is also part-Filipino, likewise provided support for the outreach.
This outreach is the 2nd mission conducted by the Consulate in 2022, following its outreach in Washington in March 2022.
