PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN SAN FRANCISCO ATTENDS SF CLIMATE WEEK EVENT HIGHLIGHTING INNOVATIONS FOR A GREEN FUTURE

San Francisco, CA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco participated in SF Climate Week by attending the event titled “Building Resilience and Powering Progress: Ecosystems for a Green Future” held at Good Machine Studio, a venture studio focused on developing scalable solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, on 23 April 2025.

The event, hosted by Good Machine CEO Jen Cole, brought together innovators and entrepreneurs working on cutting-edge climate-resilient technologies and green energy solutions. Ten startups presented their ideas and breakthroughs, underscoring the critical role of technology and innovation in combating climate change and building resilient communities.

Climate Resilient Technologies Showcased:

  • Pano AI (Arvind Satyam, Co-Founder and CCO): Utilizes deep learning and computer vision to detect, verify, and classify wildfires in real time.
  • ThermoShade (Emily Dinino, Founder and CEO): Offers high-tech, passive cooling shade panels that create spaces up to 20°F cooler than traditional awnings.
  • Cyclei (Cher Lei, Co-Founder and CEO): Aims to eliminate single-use disposables through a weekly collection system for reusable containers.
  • Habitat Horticulture (David Brenner, Founder and CEO): Builds sustainable living walls using diverse native plant palettes to enhance urban ecosystems.
  • Reefgen (Christopher Oakes, CEO): Designs cost-effective underwater vehicles to support seagrass and coral restoration through mechanized planting.
  • Re-Nuble, Inc. (Tinia Shante Pina, President and CEO): Produces high-performance fertilizers and hydroponic mats that promote crop growth while reducing environmental impact.

Green Energy Solutions Presented:

  • Volt Air (Jumana Al Hashal, Co-Founder and CEO): Offers solar-electric refrigeration with AI-driven energy optimization for refrigerated fleets.
  • Voltpost (Aditi Desai, Director for Partnerships): Delivers scalable EV charging through retrofitted lamppost stations installable in under an hour.
  • Pando Electric (Joseph Nagle, Head of Corporate Strategy): Provides smart, high-power EV charging solutions tailored for multi-unit residential buildings.
  • Airbuild (David Gory, CEO): Leverages microalgae through biopods and biopanels to sequester carbon, clean water, and generate biochar—each panel capturing more carbon than 15 trees.

The Consulate’s participation reflects the Philippine government’s continued commitment to climate action, sustainability, and fostering innovation-driven collaboration with local and international stakeholders. The event also served as a valuable platform for exploring synergies in green technologies that could benefit communities both in the Philippines and globally. END
