PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GAINS INSIGHT INTO THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF SAN FRANCISCO CITY HALL THROUGH A GUIDED TOUR

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – As part of its community immersion initiative, a delegation from the Philippine Consulate General led by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz G. Cortes visited the San Francisco City Hall on 18 September 2025.
Through the guided tour conducted by Ms. Ellen Schumer, City Hall Historian and Docent Program Manager, tour participants were provided with significant information regarding the city hall’s rich history, heritage, and notable architecture.
The San Francisco City Hall or the “People’s Palace” is the seat of government of the City and County of San Francisco. Part of the Civic Center, it is a historic landmark popular with tourists and organized private events.
The latest collaboration of the Consulate with the City Hall was on 12 June 2025, when the City Hall facade was lit in Philippine national colors in celebration of Philippine Independence Day.
