PHILIPPINE CONSULATE ENGAGES WITH BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND OREGON CONSULAR CORPS AT THE 2025 CELEBRATE TRADE EVENT

PORTLAND, Oregon – Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Frank Ferrer attended the Oregon Consular Corps (OCC) 2025 Celebrate Trade event held on 15 May 2025 at the Portland Art Museum in Oregon.
The annual event bestows recognition for businesses selling in international markets and have made significant contributions to Oregon’s economic progress and quality of life. It is also a fundraising activity organized by the OCC to raise money for its Scholarship Fund, which underwrites scholarships for international studies majors at six Oregon universities to support Oregon’s next generation of leaders.
Consul General Ferrer was accompanied by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes, as well as by Honorary Consul to Oregon, Enrico Tadeo, who arranged for a table for a Philippine delegation during the event. Other representatives of the Filipino-American contingent included Mrs. Vivian Tadeo, wife of Honorary Consul Tadeo, Ms. Dolores “Dolly” Specht, President of NaFFAA Oregon, and former PHL Honorary Consul to Oregon Richard K. Woodling.
The Celebrate Trade Awardees for 2025 are the following:
- Global Trailblazer Award: Shaniko Wool Company
- Global Trailblazer Award: Keen Footwear
- Global Trailblazer Award: Benchmade Knife Company
- Global Trailblazer Award: Oregon Seed Council
- Oregon Consular Corps Global Ambassador Award: TrackTown USA/Hayward Field at University of Oregon.
Prior to the Gala, Oregon State Representative Daniel Nguyen also hosted the Oregon Trade Leadership Reception which was a more intimate gathering for members of the Consular Corps, local officials and top executives of leading businesses in Oregon. State Secretary Tobias Read of Oregon also graced the event.
The Philippine Consulate General values its engagement with the Oregon Consular Corps and the business community in Oregon as it is an important part of promoting trade and investment in the Philippines. The events provided an opportunity for the Consulate to build networks with business leaders and local officials, and reconnect with established contacts, including Ms. Jan Mason, President of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon and former Governor of Oregon, Kate Brown.
