PH Consulate Joins the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc.

VALLEJO, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes, Vice Consul Glaiza Quarteros and Cultural Officer Anne Maris Estoya, graced the 80th Anniversary and Installation of Officers of the Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. (FCSCI) on 14 March 2026.
City of Vallejo Vice Mayor Diosdado “JR” Matulac led the oath taking of the new set of officers of the organization, while Filipino-American Judge Marlo Nisperos of the Superior Court of the County of Solano was among the other distinguished guests who attended the event.
Ms. Annie Frias-Ramos, President of FCSCI, underscored the importance of the celebration as a reaffirmation of the organization’s mission in promoting Filipino culture, strengthening community ties and encouraging the next generation to take pride in their heritage. The event also paid tribute to all past presidents for their valuable contributions that made the organization thrive and flourish until the present.
Deputy Consul General Cortes lauded the various projects and activities of the organization which included dance workshops, community-centered initiatives such as inclusive career and wellness fair in partnership with the California Department of Rehabilitation, scholarship and youth mentoring programs and tea dance gatherings that promote fellowship and wellness among community members. She likewise reaffirmed the Consulate’s continued commitment to work with the FCSI towards promoting Filipino culture, strengthening community ties, and supporting the well-being of Filipino Americans in Solano County and beyond.The Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. (FCSCI) was organized shortly after World War II by a group of concerned Filipino Americans in Vallejo, California. It was incorporated on 3 April 1946 as a non-profit organization serving the needs of the Filipino Americans in Vallejo and provided a venue for mutual support and preservation of Filipino culture and heritage. At present, FCSI membership is not concentrated in Vallejo alone. One of the enduring legacies of the organization is the Vallejo Pista sa Nayon, which is one of the largest Filipino community events in the Bay Area and is celebrating its 40th anniversary on 6 June 2026.END
