PH Consulate Joins Santa Clara County Filipino American Employees Groups’s Fil-Am History Month Event

PH CONSULATE JOINS SANTA CLARA COUNTY FILIPINO AMERICAN EMPLOYEES GROUP’S FIL-AM HISTORY MONTH EVENT

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, took part in the Filipino American History Month celebration of the Santa Clara County Filipino American Employees Group—held at the Santa Clara County Building in San Jose, California on 24 October 2024.

In his remarks, Vice Consul Baccay thanked Santa Clara County Board Supervisors Vice President Otto Lee for sponsoring the Santa Clara Board of Supervisors proclamation on Filipino American History Month in the county. He said that Filipino American History Month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the 4.3 million Overseas Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the United States in nation-building efforts in the Philippines.

The Santa Clara County Filipino American Employees Group comprises more than 200 Filipino American officers and employees working in the county government. According to U.S. Census data, there are more than 107,100 Filipinos and Filipino Americans living in Santa Clara County. (Don Orozco, Bong Aralar photos)
