PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA, USA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco joined Filipino American women in tech and innovators in advocating for more representation of Filipinos in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
In a forum titled, Be The Bridge, hosted by PhilDev, a nonprofit organization that launches initiatives in education, startups, and mentorship that aims to inspire young Filipinos to excel in STEM, women innovators shared their experiences in navigating the tech landscape, in breaking the glass ceilings, and overcoming barriers in pursuing careers in AI and tech. PhilDev recognizes that establishing peer connections among Filipinos and Filipino Americans can provide support and mentorship to young Filipinos and in building a sustainable community to lean on and learn from.
