PH Consulate Joins Elders in Fil-Am History Month Celebration at Canon Kip Senior Center

PH CONSULATE JOINS ELDERS IN FIL-AM HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION AT CANON KIP SENIOR CENTER

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco attended the Filipino American History Month celebration of the Canon Kip Senior Center in San Francisco on 20 October 2023.

In his remarks, Consul Jed Llona honored the elders in attendance for laying the foundation of the Filipino American Community in the Bay Area. He outlined the Philippine government’s programs for Filipino seniors, including the “centenarian gift” of P100,000 upon reaching the age of 100. He also announced the Consulate’s monthly free legal aid clinic and the annual Christmas party for seniors in December 2023.

The Canon Kip Senior Center provides health and legal assistance, meal programs, and socialization opportunities to elders aged 60 and above, offering their services in English, Filipino, Cebuano and Ilonggo. Its location at the SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District makes the Center a hub for Filipino and Filipino American seniors. (San Francisco PCG photos)
