PH Consulate Joins Daly City in Honoring Military Veterans, Including 100-Year-Old Filipino World War II Veteran

PH CONSULATE JOINS DALY CITY IN HONORING MILITARY VETERANS, INCLUDING 100-YEAR-OLD FILIPINO WORLD WAR II VET

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, attended the Veterans Day commemoration of the Daly City Government, held at the War Memorial Community Center in Daly City, California on 7 November 2024.

In her speech, Fil-Am Daly City Mayor Juslyn Manalo highlighted the sacrifices of military veterans for the freedoms that younger generations currently enjoy, and encouraged the attendees to continuously accord honor and gratitude to them.

Among those present was 100-year-old Filipino World War II veteran, Bataan Death March survivor and Daly City resident Pedro Pineda, who was recognized by Mayor Manalo and Vice Consul Baccay. The Fil-Am group Pilipino Bayanihan Resource Center, led by its founder Perla Ibarrientos, also honored the veterans during the event. (San Francisco PCG photos)
