Deputy Consul General Raquel R. Solano joined the Bohol Circle, Inc. in celebrating its 86th anniversary in a Hawaiian-themed event on 24 September 2022 at its headquarters in Union Street in Alameda, California.

In her remarks during the occasion, DCG Solano paid tribute to the organization’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to service, the cooperation and support of its members, and the spirit of caring and sharing that continue to characterize the relations among its members.

Established in Alameda in 1936 by 16 Filipino immigrants from the island of Bohol in the Philippines, the Bohol Circle, Inc. is believed to be the oldest Filipino-American group in the United States.  In 2017, the City of Alameda honored Bohol Circle by naming a street at the Alameda Landing after the organization.
