TIGARD, OREGON – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco returned to the Portland Metropolitan Area for its annual consular outreach in Oregon from 25 to 28 April 2024, delivering a total of 983 services.

The four-day consular outreach provided essential consular services to Filipinos and Filipino Americans, who availed themselves of passport, dual citizenship, and overseas voting registration services without having to travel to San Francisco. Applicants from throughout Oregon and other states, including Washington State, Alaska, Idaho, Nevada, among others, were accommodated in the outreach.

Led by Consul Vanessa Bago-Llona, the consular outreach was conducted with the support of Philippine Honorary Consul in Portland Enrico Tadeo, Filipino Community leader Lorelei Hosmillo, and various Filipino American groups including the Filipino American Association of Vancouver, Washington, the Filipino Bayanihan Center and the Filipino American Association of Portland & Vicinity.

Cynthia Guevara-Fabela of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division also participated in the outreach, and provided valuable information about prevailing laws and regulations to protect the welfare of workers and promote their rights.

The consular outreach was the third conducted by the Consulate in 2024. It is scheduled to conduct missions in Reno, Nevada on 17-18 May 2023, and in Boise, Idaho on 20 May 2024.
