SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco returned to Utah’s capital for its seventh consular outreach of the year, held at Hilton Garden Inn Salt Lake City Downtown on 11 July 2024.

Passport, dual citizenship, and overseas voter (OV) registration services were offered during the Consulate’s first consular outreach in Utah in two years.

In a statement, Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer said that the consular outreach in Salt Lake City is “in line with the Consulate’s continuing commitment to provide timely consular services to Filipinos in Rocky Mountains states under the Consulate’s jurisdiction.”

A ten-person team traveled by land from San Francisco to Salt Lake City—providing a total of 388 consular services to Filipinos in Utah, as well as the neighboring states of Colorado and Wyoming.

Upon the Consulate’s invitation, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist Kyle Dillingham of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (U.S. DOL-WHD) Office in Salt Lake City, opened an information desk at the outreach venue, and gave brief talks prior to the dual citizenship oath-taking ceremonies.

The Consulate partnered with the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Utah Chapter for the conduct of the one-day consular outreach.

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, one of the highest-ranking Filipino American elected officials in the United States, visited the consular outreach and met with Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, NaFFAA Desert Mountain Region President Sally Balecha, and NaFFAA Utah Chapter President Lillian Chavez Vergin.

For the schedule of the remaining consular outreaches for 2024, the public is requested to visit the Consulate’s official website. END
