PH CONSULATE IN SF PERSONNEL PARTICIPATE IN DUAL CITIZENSHIP RETOOLING SEMINAR

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – As part of efforts to further improve the provision of consular services for its clients, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco organized a Dual Citizenship Retooling Seminar for its personnel on 10 February 2023.  The seminar sought to foster a common appreciation and understanding of dual citizenship cases among Consulate personnel.

In his remarks, Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer noted the need for Consulate personnel to continuously build capacities in order to provide quality service to its clients.

Consul General Ferrer also noted the importance of understanding Republic Act (RA) No. 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003, considering the increasing number of dual citizenship applicants processed by the Consulate, which reached a record-high of 12,363 applicants in 2022.

Former natural-born Filipinos who became naturalized as U.S. citizens may apply for dual citizenship under the provisions of RA 9225.  Interested applicants may check the Consulate’s website, https://pcgsanfrancisco.org/dual-citizenship, for details on availing of dual citizenship. END
