DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA – In a historic first, the Daly City Government celebrated its legacy business heroes at the Daly City Hall on 2 May 2024. A reception and award ceremony was held to honor local entrepreneurs, who are the backbone of Daly City’s economy and continue inspiring local residents.

The ceremony unveiled the inaugural class of the Legacy Business Recognition Program, conferred on local enterprises that have been in business for nearly three decades. The awards went to: the Westlake School of Performing Arts, for fostering artistic talent; Fil-Am Cuisine, for serving delicious Filipino fare; and Auto Sound Performance, for being a leader in the car audio industry.

Philippine Consul General Neil Ferrer lauded the business community of Daly City, including Filipino American enterprises, for their significant contributions to the growth of the local economy.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Daly City’s esteemed business leaders and to the Daly City Council, under the leadership of Mayor Juslyn Manalo, for recognizing and appreciating the invaluable contributions of these businesses to the city, which many Filipino Americans call home,” Consul General Ferrer said.

The event may be watched in its entirety on Daly City’s official YouTube channel. END
