PH CONSULATE IN SF ATTENDS AI ACTION SUMMIT DEBRIEFING

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, led by Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer, participated in a high-level debriefing last 10 March 2025 The event was hosted by the Consulate General of France and Autodesk, and delved into the outcomes of the AI Action Summit held in Paris in February 2025.
The event convened leading technology executives, policy experts, and members of the consular corps in the San Francisco Bay Area to discuss key takeaways from the Summit and the next steps toward inclusive and responsible global AI governance. The panel discussion, moderated by Axios Chief Technology Correspondent Ina Fried, featured senior representatives from Mistral AI, Stanford HAI, Equinix, AMD, and Google.
The Consulate was honored to join fellow consular missions in San Francisco and acknowledged the growing role of diplomacy in shaping the ethical and equitable deployment of artificial intelligence.
Consul General Ferrer emphasized the Philippines’ commitment to advancing a people-centered approach to digital transformation, noting that “As AI reshapes economies and societies, it is imperative for us to take part in discussions regarding AI governance framework, including issues relating to sustainability, accessibility, and cooperation towards a more just and equitable technological future.” END
