PH CONSULATE IN SF AND ABS-CBN INTERNATIONAL AFFIRM COMMITMENT TO PROMOTE PH CREATIVE INDUSTRIES, SERVE FILIPINO COMMUNITY

SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, USA – As part of the public and economic diplomacy efforts of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, Consul General Neil Ferrer visited the new office of ABS-CBN International in San Mateo, California on 26 February 2025, and met with ABS-CBN Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) and concurrent Managing Director for North & Latin America Jun Del Rosario.
Consul General Ferrer and COO Del Rosario explored possible areas of cooperation and collaboration, including the information dissemination campaign for online voting, which will be implemented for the very first time among U.S.-based overseas voters at the 2025 Philippine National Elections.
For his part, COO Del Rosario reiterated the commitment of ABS-CBN, as the Philippines’ leading content company, in promoting Filipino talent worldwide and in developing & championing the country’s creative industries. He hopes that the new Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (PCIDA) would help bring the country’s creative industries to its rightful place in the world.
Consul General Ferrer presented COO Del Rosario a copy of the DFA OPD book, “The Frontiers of Foreign Policy: Essays on Philippine Soft Power.”
Accompanying COO Del Rosario were ABS-CBN Global Head of Marketing Pam Castillo and ABS-CBN North America News Bureau Chief TJ Manotoc, while the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Silicon Valley joined the Consulate delegation.
The Filipino Channel (TFC), ABS-CBN International’s flagship product, is a 24-hour channel consisting primarily of Philippine-made general entertainment, news, and feature programs. Meanwhile, iWant TFC is ABS-CBN International’s video-on-demand streaming platform which carries channels such as TFC, the ABS-CBN News Channel, Myx, and GMA Pinoy TV. END
