PH CONSULATE IN SAN FRANCISCO CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL CONSULAR OUTREACH IN AURORA, COLORADO
Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer leads the oath-taking ceremony for newly sworn dual citizens during the consular outreach in Aurora, Colorado. The outreach, held in partnership with local organizations, delivered 362 consular services to Filipinos in the area.
AURORA, COLORADO – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted a consular outreach mission in Aurora, Colorado on 25–26 July 2025 at The Crosswind Church, providing vital consular services to the Filipino community in Colorado and neighboring areas.
The two-day outreach enabled Filipino and Filipino American residents to conveniently access passport services and citizenship reacquisition under Republic Act No. 9225 (Dual Citizenship Law). A total of 362 consular services were rendered, consisting of 191 passport applications, 3 notarials and 168 dual citizenship petitions.
In his remarks during the recognition ceremony for the volunteers and community leaders, Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to public service and community engagement:
“Bringing government services closer to our kababayans remains a top priority. We also look forward to strengthening our partnership with the Filipino community here in Colorado. We are guided by a deep commitment to public service, delivering consular assistance with excellence, professionalism, and responsiveness. By bringing services directly to our kababayans, we not only make government more accessible—we also honor and strengthen the enduring sense of belonging of the Filipino-American community to the Philippines.”
The Consulate expresses its sincere gratitude to the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Colorado, led by its President, Dr. Alexander Africa, and Honorary Consul Donna LaVigne, who led the dedicated team of community volunteers. The Consulate also warmly acknowledges the generous support of Crosswind Church volunteers, under the leadership of Pastor Ramon Navarro, whose invaluable assistance helped ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the outreach mission.

Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer personally congratulated the oldest dual citizenship applicant—a 93-year-old Filipino American—during a special oath-taking session as part of the Consulate’s outreach in Aurora, Colorado. The Consul General commended her for reaffirming her ties to the Philippines and welcomed her back as a Filipino citizen.

Ferrer with representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division (DOL-WHD) Office in Aurora, Colorado: Mr. Nick Melrose, Ms. Joyce Rubio, and Mr. Dominic O’Leary. The DOL-WHD generously provided relevant labor rights information to the Filipino community during the outreach and expressed its willingness to collaborate with the Consulate on future efforts to protect and empower Filipino workers.
