SAN FRANCISCO, USA — To further enhance its service and provide convenience to the public, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco began accepting electronic payments including credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay today, 23 October 2023.

Passport applicant Angelo Baricanosa was the first client to avail of electronic payment at the Consulate.

A contract signing was held on 20 October 2023 at the Sentro Rizal of the Philippine Center between Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer and Levi Bondoc, Chief Executive Officer of Cliqbux LLC, which shall facilitate the provision of the electronic payment system of the Consulate.

During the ceremony, Consul General Ferrer remarked, “The acceptance of e-payment has been a priority for the Consulate, in response to the feedback we have been receiving from our clients. We are pleased to finally launch this undertaking on 23 October 2023. This initiative is also in line with the Consulate’s objective to digitalize consular transactions, thereby making processes more convenient for our kababayans.”

In-person applicants may opt to pay using electronic modes of payment at the Consulate.  This shall also be made available during the Consulate’s outreach missions.

A 4% convenience fee, which will go to the e-payment service provider, shall be charged for clients opting to use these electronic modes of payment.

Cash, money orders, cashier’s checks, certified checks, and bank drafts shall continue to be accepted as modes of payment.
