SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – California Chapter (IBP-California), successfully conducted its monthly Free Legal Aid Clinic on 02 October 2026 at the Sentro Rizal of the Philippine Center.
A total of nineteen (19) Filipino nationals/clients availed of onsite free legal services of the six (6) IBP volunteer lawyers present. These clients sought legal consultation on a range of issues, including immigration (U.S. citizenship, petitions, change of status), property matters (sale, transfer, dispute, inheritance, probate in the Philippines), and family law (divorce and bigamy), and filing a criminal case in the Philippines.
As part of the Consulate’s efforts to introduce enhancements to the monthly free legal service program, online free legal consultation was likewise provided to three (3) Filipinos/Filipino Americans residing in Colorado. Consultations for the online clients centered on dual citizenship, lease contracts, and property ownership in the Philippines. The expansion to conduct online free legal consultations was also coordinated with Honorary Consul Donna LaVigne, who disseminated the information to her constituents. The free legal aid clinic is a regular activity at the Consulate, held every first Friday of each month or the succeeding Friday in case of holidays. END
