PH Consulate and Commission on Filipinos Overseas Explore Collaboration with FANHS Museum in Stockton, California

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA – As part of its community engagements in San Francisco, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) visited the Filipino American Historical National Society (FAHNS) Museum in Stockton, California on 16 August 2026.  Secretary Dante Ang II led the museum visit, accompanied by Consul General Arnel G. Talisayon, Consuls Hannah Go and Glaiza Quarteros, Mr. Michael Apattad, CFO’s Supervising Emigrant Services Officer, and Cultural Officer Anne Maris Estoya.

During the visit, Mr. Erwin Mina, Board President of the FANHS Museum highlighted the institution’s ongoing efforts to document and preserve the Filipino American experience and history. The discussion also underscored the importance of institutional partnerships in ensuring that local histories remain accessible to succeeding generations. Areas of collaboration were also explored, particularly in the areas of historical preservation, educational programs, cultural initiatives, and the sharing of resources and expertise to further promote Filipino American heritage.

Opened in 2016, the FANHS Museum houses historical memorabilia and items from different FANHS chapters and private donors. The museum showcases the history and contributions of Filipino Americans in the United States and serves as an important resource for learning about the Filipino American experience.END
