Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers Serenade the Filipino Community with Original Pilipino Music (OPM) during their Consulate Visit and Concert at Santa Clara

MAESTRO RYAN CAYABYAB AND THE RYAN CAYABYAB SINGERS SERENADE THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY WITH ORIGINAL PILIPINO MUSIC (OPM) DURING THEIR CONSULATE VISIT AND CONCERT AT SANTA CLARA

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – On 24 October 2025, Philippine National Artist for Music Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers (RCS) visited the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, delighting dual citizenship applicants during their scheduled oath-taking ceremony. The group performed an a cappella rendition of the Lupang Hinirang, followed by excerpts from the heartfelt classic Saan Ka Man Naroroon by Levi Celerio and Restie Umali, and concluded with Maestro Cayabyab’s own lively and well-loved composition, Da Coconut Nut.

Mr. Cayabyab also took the opportunity to invite the Filipino American community to their concert, “The Maestro and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers Live!” held on 26 October 2025 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California.

In support of Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers, the Philippine Consulate General graced the concert held on 26 October 2025 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The concert served as a heartwarming celebration of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), featuring exceptional performances by Maestro Ryan and the RCS. Their repertoire included beloved Filipino classics by Maestro Ryan himself, as well as hits from Willie Cruz, VST & Co., Eddie Peregrina, Yoyoy Villame, Didith Reyes, and Rico J. Puno, among others.

Renowned OPM composers Cecile Azarcon and Odette Quesada also joined as special guest performers, adding depth and nostalgia to the evening. Highlighting the event was a special segment featuring talented young Filipino Americans who participated in the Ryan Cayabyab Masterclass, showcasing the next generation of Filipino musical artistry.
