SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Representing Consul General Neil Ferrer and the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes and Vice Consul Adrian Baccay joined the Bay Area Filipino American Community in the 20th Filipino Heritage Night of the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center in San Francisco on 7 April 2025—featuring the home team’s game against Filipino American player Jalen Green and the Houston Rockets.

Cultural groups TRP Tinikling Team of the Thomas R. Pollicita Middle School in Daly City, Dancel’s Academy of Taekwondo in San Bruno, and “America’s Got Talent” Season 15 semifinalists Sypros Bros performed during the event.

Complimentary tribal-themed t-shirts were given away to Filipino Heritage Night ticket holders. Filipino-themed items such as carabao dolls with the Warriors logo and colors, were sold to the general public.

This Filipino Heritage Night marks the launch of Philippine fast food giant Jollibee as the Warriors’ newest corporate sponsor. Jollibee hosted a pre-game mixer at Chase Center’s Bayview Terrace. The company also gave away free peach mango pies to Filipino Heritage Night ticket holders.

Jollibee is the Warriors’ first Philippine corporate sponsor since Tanduay, marketed as the rum “From the Tropical Islands of the Philippines,” became an official sponsor in 2017. The Tanduay Bar is a permanent fixture at the food area of Chase Center.

The event is also the first Filipino Heritage Night since the San Francisco-based Filipino American food chain Señor Sisig opened its permanent location at Chase Center in February 2025, during the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. Known for its sisig taco and ube horchata drink, the Señor Sisig food truck had been regularly featured in previous Filipino Heritage Nights.

As a pre-game event, the new Señor Sisig permanent store served as the venue of the “Halo-Halo” networking mixer, organized by the Filipino American Arts Exposition (FAAE) for Filipino American employee resource groups (ERGs) and other professional organizations in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

Meanwhile, organizers of the Pista sa Nayon in Vallejo, California, the Bay Area’s largest Philippine Independence Day festival, mounted a booth inside Chase Center to promote their event.

“I commend the Warriors organization and the Filipino American Community for yet another successful Filipino Heritage Night at Chase Center. I encourage all Filipinos and Filipino Americans to continue showing pride in their history and culture by attending the Filipino heritage events of their local professional and collegiate sports teams,” Consul General Neil Ferrer said in a statement.

The Warriors’ Filipino Heritage Night is the second Filipino heritage event held by the Bay Area’s professional sports teams this year, after the Filipino Heritage Night of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks in March 2025.

Upcoming events include: the Filipino Heritage Night of the MLS’s San Jose Earthquakes on 20 September 2025; and the Filipino Heritage Night of the MLB’s San Francisco Giants on 23 September 2025. In Washington State, the MLB’s Seattle Mariners is hosting two Filipino Heritage Nights on 11 April 2025 and 23 August 2025. END
