Filipino Visual Artists Donate Artworks to Sentro Rizal Collection at the Philippine Center

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – On 10 June 2026, Filipino visual artists Catherine Bassig-Paje and Butch Paje, co-founders of the FIlipino Creatives International donated six (6) artworks to the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, further enriching the Consulate’s Sentro Rizal collection and supporting its mission to promote Philippine art, culture, and heritage.

The donated artworks include “Wings of the Nation” by Ms. Paje and “GOMBURZA“, “La Solidaridad”, “Mabini”, “Rizal Beyond Walls”, and “Supremo” by Mr. Paje. These works were part of the curated pieces featured in the recently held art exhibit entitled,The Art of Belonging; Filipino Narratives in Americawhich was held from 8 to 19 June 2026 at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center.

Filipino Creatives International is a U.S.-based community hub dedicated to connecting, empowering, and showcasing Filipino artists, designers, and cultural workers around the world. Butch Paje explores themes of cultural identity, heritage, and resilience through works characterized by layered materials and richly textured compositions. Cathy Paje is a visual artist and an art educator committed to strengths-based, performance-focused art education and in creating inclusive spaces that support student creativity. She is a recipient of the Best of Bahrain Award (2012) and the Ani ng Dangal Award for Visual Arts (2022), recognizing her contributions to the visual arts. The Philippine Consulate General expresses its sincere appreciation to the Filipino artists for their generosity and meaningful contribution. The artworks are a welcome addition to the growing collection of Sentro Rizal, the Consulate’s center for the promotion of Philippine culture, arts, and history. END
