Filipino Food Paired with Napa Valley Wines in American Canyon, CA

FILIPINO FOOD PAIRED WITH NAPA VALLEY WINES IN AMERICAN CANYON, CA

Deputy Consul General Raquel Solano and Vice Consul Adrian Baccay of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco attended a Filipino food and Napa Valley wine-pairing eventhosted by American Canyon Councilmember David Oro—in partnership with the Fil-Am Club of American Canyon, and the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) in American Canyon, Napa County, California on 22 September 2022.

Oro is Napa County’s first elected Filipino American official. Napa County District 5 Supervisor Bella Ramos, and American Canyon Mayor Leon Garcia and wife Eva, a Fil-Am, also attended the event. Also present during the food-wine pairing event were NVV officials.

In her remarks, Deputy Consul General Solano thanked Oro for hosting the wine-pairing event at his home and conveyed her appreciation to the Fil-Am Club of American Canyon and the NVV for co-organizing the event. She also noted that the event was a good opportunity not only to showcase Filipino cuisine, the talent of Fil-Am chefs, and the best of Napa wines, but also to strengthen and renew the Fil-Am community spirit.

Fil-Am food truck Cooked by Gio prepared the Filipino food fare during the event. Among the dishes that were served included pancit bihon, sisig, lechon kawali, and pork barbecue. These were paired with Merlot, Chardonnay and Rosé, among other Napa Valley wines. (San Francisco PCG, Karla Ivan photos)
