Filipino American Community of Colorado Receives FWN’s Disrupt Book Series

Edgewater, Colorado – The Filipino American Community of Colorado (FACC)’s Cultural Center in Colorado warmly received the five-volume DISRUPT book series donated by the San Francisco-based Foundation for Filipina Women’s Network (FWN). The donation is part of FWN’s book donation drive, which seeks to expand access to the inspiring stories of remarkable Filipina women and highlight their achievements, challenges, leadership journeys, and resilience.

FACC President Ms. Vivian Egonio-Norman and Cultural Committee Chair Ms. Danielle Stratton expressed their sincere appreciation to FWN for the generous donation. The books will be housed at the FACC Cultural Center in Colorado and will serve as a valuable source of inspiration and resource material for Filipino women and girls in the greater Denver area and beyond.

The DISRUPT book series is a groundbreaking publication that documents the leadership stories of 167 Filipina authors. Their stories talk about victories over poverty, domestic violence, incarceration, discrimination and harassment which shaped their world view, leader identity, life purpose, power and influence.The turnover of the book set took place through the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Consul General Arnel G. Talisayon together with Philippine Honorary Consul Donna LaVigne, during the 16th National Empowerment Conference of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) held in Denver, Colorado on 14 August 2026.END
