CONSUL GENERAL NEIL FERRER MEETS WITH BOISE, IDAHO MAYOR LAUREN MCLEAN

BOISE, IDAHO, USA – The Philippine Consul General in San Francisco, Neil Frank Ferrer, met with Mayor Lauren McLean at the Boise City Hall, Idaho on 20 May 2024.
Consul General Ferrer lauded Mayor McLean for being the first woman to become the mayor of Boise in the city’s 150-year history.
He shared that a team from the Consulate was undertaking a consular outreach mission in Boise to provide services to Filipinos and Filipino Americans residing in Idaho and nearby states. He noted that Idaho is home to over 11,000 Filipino-Americans, with over 2,000 residing in Boise. He discussed possible areas of engagement between the Philippines and the government of Boise, including economic, cultural and people-to-people relations.
During the meeting, Consul General Ferrer also introduced Mr. Jaime Lara, President of the Filipino-American Association of Idaho, and other members of the Association, Mr. Ruben Manubay and Mr. Michael Ryan, to Mayor McLean, to establish rapport between the community and the government of Boise. Mayor McLean was joined by Kathy Griesmyer, Director of Government Affairs.(END)
