Consul General Neil Ferrer Meets Art Aficionado Ken Hakuta

SAN FRANCISCO, 25 February 2021 – Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer received art aficionado and Philippine art supporter Mr. Ken Hakuta at the Philippine Consulate General.

Mr. Hakuta talked about opportunities for Filipino Americans to support Philippine art and culture in the U.S. given the big number of FilAms in the U.S.

Consul General Ferrer noted that promoting art and culture is very important, especially among young FilAms. He mentioned that the Philippines and the United States are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Philippine-U.S. diplomatic relations and it could be an opportunity for FilAms to support related activities.
Mr. Hakuta stages art exhibitions on behalf of his uncle, the late contemporary video artist Mr. Nam June Paik. In recent years, he spearheaded exhibitions of his uncle’s video art works in Manila at Leon Gallery International. END
