BURLINGAME, CALIFORNIA – Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer joined Philippine Airlines (PAL) in honoring its most loyal frequent flyers during the Mabuhay Miles Million Miler Night held on 5 June 2025 at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, California. He was accompanied by Madame Miriam Ferrer, Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes, Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil, and Tourism Attaché Soleil Tropicales.

The event celebrated PAL’s Million Milers—elite Mabuhay Miles members recognized for their long-standing patronage of the Philippine flag carrier. It was graced by PAL Holdings President and CEO Mr. Lucio Tan III and PAL Executive Vice President and COO Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez. PAL executives and staff from across the United States, Canada, and the Philippines also attended.

In his keynote remarks, Consul General Ferrer highlighted PAL’s enduring legacy of connecting Filipinos around the globe for over 80 years, not just through travel but also by carrying their dreams and culture. He commended the airline’s strong operational and financial performance in 2024, including the launch of the Manila-Seattle nonstop route—its first new U.S. destination in nearly a decade.

He also recognized PAL’s contributions to the Filipino community in the United States and expressed appreciation to the PAL San Francisco team for their continued support to the Philippine Consulate General.

“To the Million Milers, your journeys with PAL are not just measured in miles, but in moments—moments that reflect our culture of hospitality, resilience, and warmth,” said Consul General Ferrer. “Thank you for choosing to fly with our flag carrier time and again. In doing so, you honor not just an airline, but a symbol of Filipino pride and identity.”

Mr. Tan, in his message, emphasized that the loyalty of Mabuhay Miles members continues to drive PAL’s commitment to service excellence. He assured attendees that Million Milers can expect dedicated support and exclusive privileges, reaffirming PAL’s goal of delivering a safe, reliable, and world-class travel experience.

Atty. Fernandez echoed these sentiments and shared key updates on PAL’s service and operational improvements:

    • Enhanced Upgrade Travel Certificates (UTC): Faster, one-step cabin upgrades now available for both the traveler and a companion, with more flexible travel periods.
    • Expanded U.S. Network via Alaska Airlines Partnership: Mabuhay Miles members can now earn miles on eligible Alaska Airlines flights and enjoy wider access to domestic U.S. destinations.
    • Website and Mobile App Overhaul: A new PAL website and app—launching fully in Q3 2025—will include multilingual access, smarter booking tools, enhanced data privacy features, and multi-currency e-wallet payment options.
    • New Routes and Services: Recently launched flights include Cebu-Ho Chi Minh, with Manila-Da Nang to follow.
    • Resumed Routes: Manila-Beijing, Cebu-Catarman and Osaka, and Clark-Basco and Siargao flights have resumed.
    • Fleet Expansion: PAL will welcome the Airbus A350-1000 to its long-haul fleet beginning December 2025. Eighteen existing aircraft will be refurbished with modernized cabins, unlimited Wi-Fi, and upgraded in-flight entertainment systems.

The Million Miler Night exemplified the enduring partnership between PAL and the global Filipino community, as well as the airline’s commitment to innovation, connectivity, and customer care. END
