Manila, Philippines — Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer joined fellow Consuls General from Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the United States in paying a courtesy call on Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro on 15 July 2025 at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pasay City. The call follows the successful conduct of the 2025 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour.
The delegation of Consuls General was led by Consul General Arman Talbo of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, the lead post for this year’s Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour. During the courtesy call, Consul General Talbo provided Secretary Lazaro with an overview and key accomplishments of the VIP Tour 2025, which brought together hundreds of Filipino Americans to reconnect with their heritage and deepen people-to-people ties.
Each Consul General shared updates on developments, challenges, and opportunities within their respective jurisdictions, highlighting initiatives in consular services, community engagement, cultural promotion, and economic diplomacy.
Secretary Lazaro, in turn, outlined the Department of Foreign Affairs’ strategic priorities under her leadership.
Consul General Ferrer reaffirmed the commitment of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco to advance the Department’s goals through effective and efficient delivery of consular services, robust partnerships with the Filipino-American community, sustained public diplomacy efforts, and initiatives that promote Philippine innovation, culture, and business.
The courtesy call served as a reaffirmation of the shared mission of the DFA and its Foreign Service Posts to preserve and enhance national security, advance economic diplomacy, and champion the interests and welfare of Filipinos abroad, and to harness their contributions toward national development.
