CONSUL GENERAL FERRER TOURS THE HINABI PROJECT’S “ENDURING PIÑA” EXHIBIT IN SF
Philippine Consul General Neil Ferrer, accompanied by Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, visited the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center at the SOMA Pilipinas District on 8 September 2022 for a tour of The Hinabi Project’s “Enduring Piña” exhibit. The Hinabi Project co-founder Edwin Lozada led the guided tour of the exhibit.
The exhibit, which showcases the exquisite Philippine pineapple textile, is an extension of the ongoing piña exhibit at the San Francisco International Airport. Some of the items featured include the collections of Filipino fashion designer Patis Tesoro, and Filipino American designer Anthony Cruz Legarda.
The Hinabi Project is dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and practice of Philippine weaving arts in natural fiber, with the aim of giving Filipino Americans a source of pride for their ancestral culture and heritage.
