Consul General Neil Ferrer showcased a series of innovative technologies launched by the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco during the planning session of Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the U.S. on 10 December 2024 held at the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C.

The technology tools, which went live on December 1, 2024, include an AI-powered chatbot, a revamped appointment booking platform, and NFC-enabled smart posters. The innovations are part of the Consulate’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its operations and ensuring that its services remain accessible, efficient, and user-friendly.

Clients can interact with the chatbot by visiting https://pcgsanfrancisco.org/chat-with-us/.

An improved appointment booking platform, https://pcgsanfrancisco.as.me, was also presented. The system simplifies scheduling, offering email and SMS reminders while consolidating booking into a user-friendly interface.

NFC-enabled smart posters were deployed at the Consulate, allowing clients to tap their devices to access information, book appointments, or check in for services.

Following the presentation, other Philippine Consulates General in the U.S. expressed interest in learning about the technology tools with the hope of replicating these for their respective clients.
