During the meeting, the Consul General informed Mr. Fontenot about the consular outreach mission in Montana, the consular jurisdiction of the Consulate, and the Consulate’s mandate to help promote the Philippines’ economic development as well as enhance scientific, educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation with the states under the Consulate’s jurisdiction.

In line with efforts to explore possible opportunities for the Philippines, Mr. Fontenot gave a briefing on Bozeman’s economy, its development priorities, as well as its challenges.  Through such briefing and the exchanges that ensued, the following were identified as possible areas of cooperation: IT-BPM, agricultural technology, trade, bioscience, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship and innovation, and climate change adaptation practices.

The two sides committed to follow through on discussions regarding the identified areas for partnership and collaboration. – END
