Consul General Ferrer Discusses Fil-Am Community, Bataan 80th Anniversary Exhibit on NBC Bay Area Program

Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer highlighted the shared history of the Philippines and the United States during World War II and the contributions of the Filipino American Community in the U.S., during the interview of award-winning broadcast journalist and talk show host Robert Handa on the NBC Bay Area program “Asian Pacific America with Robert Handa”.

Consul General Ferrer said that Filipinos have been present in the U.S. for hundreds of years, since the arrival of Filipino galleon traders in Morro Bay, California in 1587. More recently, Filipinos and Filipino Americans have been making significant contributions in the fields of healthcare, business and technology. He also invited the public to the “Remember Bataan: The 80th Anniversary of the Fall of Bataan” Memorial Exhibit, which will run at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco until 30 April 2022.
